Down the Rabbit Hole: Revisiting the Shrinking Method

چکیده

The paper is about methodology to detect and demonstrate impossible differentials in a block cipher. We were inspired by the shrinking technique proposed by Biham et al. [2,3] in 1999 which recovered properties of scalable block cipher structures from numerical search on scaled down variants. Attempt to bind all concepts and techniques of impossible differentials together reveals a view of the search for impossible differentials that can benefit from the computational power of a computer. We demonstrate on generalized Feistel networks with internal permutations an additional clustering layer on top of shrinking which let us merge numerical data into relevant human-readable information to be used in an actual proof. After that, we show how initial analysis of scaled down TEA-like schemes leaks the relevant part of the design and the length and ends of the impossible differentials. We use that initial profiling to numerically discover 4 15-round impossible differentials (beating the current 13-round) and thousands of shorter ones.

Four different types of a single drop dripping down a hole under gravity by lattice Boltzmann method

In this paper the dynamic of a droplet on a surface with a hole is investigated under gravitational effect by using lattice Boltzmann method. Incompressible two-phase flow with high density ratio proposed by Lee is considered. Cahn’s theory is used to observe the wettability of the surface in contact with liquid and gas phases. Several parameters such as contact angle, surface tension and gravi...

Isolation and Characterization of the Progenitor Cells From the Blastema Tissue Formed at Experimentally-Created Rabbit Ear Hole

Objective(s): Throughout evolution, mammalians have increasingly lost their ability to regenerate structures however rabbits are exceptional since they develop a blastema in their ear wound for regeneration purposes. Blastema consists of a group of undifferentiated cells capable of dividing and differentiating into the ear tissue. The objective of the present study is to isolate, culture expa...

Revisiting cycle shrinking

Several loop transformations techniques have been designed to extract parallelism from nested loop structures. We rst review two important approaches, known as Generalized Cycle Shrinking presented by Shang, O'Keefe and Fortes and the Index Shift Method introduced by Liu, Ho and Sheu. The main result of the paper is a new methodology that permits to combine cycle shrinking techniques with the i...

Blastema from rabbit ear contains progenitor cells comparable to marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells

Rabbits have the capacity to regenerate holes in their ears by forming a blastema, a tissue that is made up of a group of undifferentiated cells. The purpose of the present study was to isolate and characterize blastema progenitor cells and compare them with marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Five New Zealand white male rabbits were used in the present study. A 2-mm hole was created in the a...

Mechanical Strength Improvement of Mud Motor’s Elastomer by Nano Clay and Prediction the Working Life via Strain Energy

In directional drilling, the most important thing that leads to pulling out the drill string is end of mud motor working life. Considering the working conditions of down hole mud motors; increasing the mechanical properties of their stator’s elastomer is crucial. Some attempts were done to increase the motor performance through geometrical changes but lack of material improvement is significant...
